Google CS First Program launched for Pakistani students

 



Islamabad: Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication has launched Google CS First Program to equip students with IT skills across the country.

The program has been launched with the collaboration of Google, Tech Valley Pakistan, Telecom Foundation and Virtual University.

An inauguration ceremony was held at the IT ministry where Haq inaugurated the program.

CS First is an early age coding program for kids aged between 9 to 14 and consists of a free computer science curriculum that makes coding easy to teach and fun to learn through video-based activities, with different themes like sports, art, and game design.

The IT minister said that the steps are being taken in the light of the vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan for a Digital Pakistan.

He said CS First Program will prove best platform for Pakistani students to learn coding and other basic skills.

The platform which will be used in this regard is “Scratch” platform, a specialized tool researched and developed by MIT. As an official Google partner, Tech Valley Pakistan will assist the MoITT with the roll-out of the program, starting from the Telecom Foundation schools.
